Dizzy, and light-headed, and really stupid.
I can't lie down, or I can't breathe. I can't sit up, or I can't sleep. I want to sleep so much.
The girls both got their swim report cards today. Two kids, two promotions. Well, Ana was like half a promotion - last session, one teacher put her in flying fish, and the other kept her in fish, so the swim director and I decided to keep her in fish one more session, and now she's in flying fish and I'm not even a tiny bit surprised. Eva's been chugging away at guppy for what seems like forever now, and now she's a minnow!
Both of them swim, needless to say, infinitely better than I do. Occasionally I get "Why do we have to swim? You can't!", but as it's perfectly honest to say that I regret that with every fiber of my being, I do say that. Not that the argument works, but they usually forget all about it by next swim class.

Date: 2015-02-14 04:33 am (UTC)Thing was, I could swim *fine* -- on the bottom. And do two full laps of the pool before I needed to come up. But I couldn't *stay* up, for anything.
A dozen years later, I swam underwater in the Dead Sea. Now, 37 years after that, I still sink in the Pacific. I tried going for a swim in the Columbia River last spring, and went for a nice walk along the bottom.
My sympathies about the Sinusoid Stupids. I find strong ginger tea to be helpful.
best,
Joel
