I forgot just how slushy slush is when the snow is melting.

I had to go into the city to buy some tomatoes (the only hope I have of getting somewhat edible fresh tomatoes this time of year), and on the way back I shelled out $5 for a metrocard, my feet were already wet enough. No receipt, and I paid in cash, and on the bus the damn thing didn't work. Not only didn't work, but scanned up as $0, so of course the driver called me a liar. Let me ride anyway, but not without a side heaping of serious snark, which is still preferable to slush. I could scream. I very nearly burst into tears when I thought I might have to wade through all the slush to get home.
