We went to the diner with Michele's family to celebrate the yearly coincidence of our birthdays being a day apart. Ana is going through what she calls her "goth stage", which seems to involve a wig (of course), magic marker on her lips, and a fake English accent. The accent turned out to be contagious. We had to listen to it ALL MORNING. Oh well. Eva brought her little stuffed puppy, which by the way is filthy. Every bite of food went to the toy first, and eventually the puppy drank from her cup. Of course, then it got wet, so Eva decided to dry it off... with her tongue. I just about died laughing, and she kept asking what was so funny, which didn't help!

Huh. That research does not show even vaguely what its authors purport it does.

Aggression != hatred. Jesus.

And if they're engaging in the index behavior MORE THAN HALF THE TIME in the original condition, you don't get to say it "kicks in" only subsequently. The jump from 51% to 71% may be statistically significant (or may be not, N's not too big) but you cannot begin to claim that the subjects hadn't been engaging in the behavior, whatever it signifies.

The current Jeopardy champion is one of my college friends — I went to his wedding and roomed for two years in Manhattan with his best man. I can attest to the fact that he is having the time of his life with all this media coverage about him being a polarizing figure, bantering with trolls on Twitter, getting people to actually watch his standup routines about how smart he is, etc.

Current results suggest "normal". If its any consolation, I was explicitly taught in school that we drop the first r when speaking, and Merriam-Webster comments indicate that about half the US was told the same.
