I've worked it out. If, between the three of us adults, we know 1,000 people they only have to donate $16 each. Or if we know 500 people that's $32 each. Jenn has 300 Facebook friends, if they all donated then that's, um, about $53 each, which is a nuisance and a pain but still doable.
Elementary school math, ain't it great? It's a pity we don't know 16,000 people between us, because even casual acquaintances will be willing to give you a dollar in need.
