Kidney beans in chili. White beans with greens and sausage. Split pea soup. Black beans with cilantro or sweet potato or both. Chickpeas for hummus. Nothing wrong with any of those, but isn't there more to life? And nobody is such a fan of soup here anyway.
I could crack open my Indian cookbook, which has a plethora of bean recipes, and lentils, but much though I adore it I don't want to eat from it every day.

I'd suggest hake as the fish, since it's based on a Spanish recipe that uses hake as the norm, but white fish will do. Or just skip the fish.

Boston baked beans.
Frijoles refritos. (Seriously, Gray likes a tortilla spread with beans, plop a fried egg on it, douse it in salsa and eat up. He says huevos rancheros without beans lacks substance.)
Cholent.
Puree the beans and put dabs in anything: meatloaf, spaghetti sauce, bread (yes, really, bread, it works and adds protein)
