A tree came down during the wind last night

Snapped in half and landed right on a power line. Yikes!

Also, the wind did nothing to deter my neighbors from fighting all night the second night in a row, but alas, there was no point going out to tell them to quiet down - this time, the neighbors were cats. They don't always listen to me.

A while back my sister got a really cheap and chintzy laptop for backup

and it's not that good for very much - really basic. Does anybody know a charitable organization which could use a laptop even of a very basic functionality? Or, barring that, a person? They need to be in NYC - nobody's going to mail this, even with the best intentions.
