I recently was reminded of the existence of Dr. Horrible, and I've come to a sobering realization

that Captain Hammer is, in many ways, nothing more than a more coherent version of Donald Trump.

Perhaps this realization is more alarming than sobering. Do you know, I think I've lost the ability to tell.

We’re up to three starlings

We are now at DEFCON Starling. However, I just was able to cash the check I got from the Board of Elections. I should not have been able to - it was made out in the wrong name! I meant to fix it but what with reasons and random anxiety and reasons I hadn’t, but I decided to try it out for kicks and it went through! So uh I got the bird feeding stuff I’d planned to get over a few months.

Hopefully I’ll be able to discourage them from inviting friends without having to take extreme measures to chase them away entirely.

I also got mulch for under the feeders, and figured out what to ask everybody to get me for my birthday! (Plants for the birds yard, mostly. The birds like the enormous patch of ragweed, but they’re the only ones. They’ll like some nice native shrubs and ornamental grasses just as well.)

Also! I saw that greeny yellowy bird again! Close to dawn. Maybe it’s crepuscular?
