I forgot to tell you all how smart Moonpie is!

So, just yesterday I heard a weird thumping in E's room. I have no idea what it was, but I thought it was her coming home, so I called out "E, is that you?"

Moonpie hadn't responded to the thumping, but when she heard me call out her ears perked right up and she dashed out the door and into the other room! And then to the stairs, back to the bedroom, looked around... finally ran downstairs to see if her favorite pet human was home.

I didn't realize she knew that phrases to this effect meant that E might be home yet. Shows what I know.

The birds have now discovered the new suet feeder!

Wow, they were just going at it!

I've seen a whole bunch of chickadees and sparrows, plus mourning doves and one small, sparrow-sized bird with a red face that I think might be a finch...? And a cardinal who has perched in the tree, flown around the tree, and as near as I can tell declined to eat anything.

Hmph.
