Oh, for crying out loud.

Your protagonist does not live in, was not transported to, has never even heard of a world that's mid evil. It's not halfway evil. You mean medieval.

(Actually, about half the time they mean "roughly Renaissance-ish, give or take", but they think they mean medieval.)
