Got my teeth cleaned yesterday.
Jul. 20th, 2021 12:11 pmI have to give our dentist some credit. I told him when I went in the first time in *mumblemumble* years that I didn't want to hear any lectures or I'd bolt out the door, and true to his word, I haven't heard any dental lectures since then!
Though he did tell me that out of all his patients yesterday, two of whom were the kids, I was definitely his hardest patient. He doesn't seem to understand why I am amazingly resistant to all the parts of dental cleaning that don't actually hurt, and I absolutely lack the ability to explain it to him. (I guess I could just say "sensory sensitivity issues" and then resolutely fail to explain what that means.)
Now my teeth feel all weird. I know this is a good thing, but I hate it. I strongly suspect this is another opinion that would be bizarre and strange to my dentist.
Anyway, usually he plays Broadway or Disney songs in his office, or sometimes classical, but yesterday the very first song I heard coming in was this one which I first heard of only a few weeks ago in a book. (That book would be From the Desk of Zoe Washington, which is competently written MG fiction if you accept the premise that any 12 year old in the world is naive enough to think that there's no such thing as false convictions ever. I'm not certain I do accept that premise, but I suppose it's necessary for the story to go where it's going.)
