I forgot about the hole with the bees. They're still there. Google suggests that I don't have to drown the bees, I can simply make their home uncomfortably wet until they leave of their own volition. How much water do you think that would take, anyway?

I tried contacting our local beekeeper associations, but no reply. They're seriously overbooked, though.

From what I saw when digging for potatoes last year, though, I don't think these are social bees. I think they're solitary ones. Even if I ever got a reply, I'm not sure this is their forte.
