conulyWell, yesterday as I watered them I noticed a little bit of root poking out of some of them that were close to the top. Today, I checked on them and I had three bona fide little sprouts! And then this afternoon I had a veritable garden of sprouts! Words cannot explain how excited I am!
On the other hand, I overwatered one egg carton and two watermelon seeds ended up on the floor. Sigh. My mother thinks that we cannot grow watermelon here, but what she doesn't know is that two inch long unripe watermelons were my favorite thing to eat the summer when I was eleven.
