We're reading the Odyssey right now

I had no idea before how much of the Odyssey is "Telemachus tied up his shoes" or "So-and-so, son of What's-his-face, son of Somebody-else..."! But heaven forbid I compress a little.
"Connie! Did you just skip something?"
"Uh, no?"
"YES YOU DID! LOOK, YOU SKIPPED THIS ENTIRE PAGE!"
"It was filler!"
"We need ALL OF IT!!!"
Yeah, girls, you need every scintillating detail of who, exactly, is there to eat Telemachus and Penelope out of house and home.
