And his cousin, "My Legs Need To Stretch".

They're annoying, but everybody knows it. My absolute least favorite person on the train? The one who think they deserve 3 inches of space on either side. Your normal row can seat seven average sized people - and if somebody is larger than average, they're usually balanced out by a really skinny person or a kid or something, so it evens out. I've got no grudge against them, it's not like they'd take up less space if they were standing. But if you get one person who carefully positions herself in such a way as to effectively take up one and a half seats then before you know it, the entire row is doing the same thing and I have to stand.

Related to this is Ms. Chatterbox, who feels she has to sit sideways to talk to her friend. Her friend will then sit sideways as well, and boom - two girls, three seats.

I usually just ask these people all to scrunch up a little so we can all fit, which generally works, though just last week dude goes "Oh, no, I won't move!" Well, I suppose Eva doesn't take up a whole seat herself, so when another passenger got off I squeezed myself on one side of him and her on the other and passed her water and oranges and books back and forth over his lap. He wasn't thrilled, but really, this could all have been avoided with some simple courtesy. It's a crowded train. Your butt is not entitled to a buffer zone.

Global warming has been going on for so long that most people were not even born the last time the Earth was cooler than average in 1985 in a shift that is altering perceptions of a "normal" climate, scientists said.

Decades of climate change bring risks that people will accept higher temperatures, with more heatwaves, downpours and droughts, as normal and complicate government plans to do more to cut emissions of greenhouse gas emissions.

But then it started aching after I lugged home the CSA. Which makes sense, I guess. That's the problem I have with twisted ankles, I assume they're better because they've stopped hurting, but they're really not.

The upshot of all of this, such as it is, is that I've accumulated lots and lots more links to post. (Somebody stop me...!)

And that's all I've accomplished today, other than eating a salad. Mmm. Salad.
