And I can't *remember* and I can't find the answer.

Of the two remaining kittens, we've got Sandy and Callie. Sandy is really going to be a big cat. He far outweighs his mother and sister already, and, though Jenn scoffs, I'm certain he's going to keep growing longer until 18 months or so. Callie's probably reaching the end of her bone-growing period now, and should be at about her adult length by September, or winter at the latest.

The two of them really have very different personalities. Sandy is a friendly, easygoing type. He goes bounding up to that cream colored cat who hangs around (and once got in the house), and is willing to sniff noses with nearly any cat who passes through. He can get very enthused about things.

He's also pretty immature in his behavior. He still is inclined to chew cords if they're dangling, when his sister learned not to after a few days of my gently moving her face away if she tried. While all cats, of course, play hunting games, he still plays pounce on his own tail, or on the legs of the chair. He still tries to nurse - and after several months he's finally figured out his mother won't let him, so he's switched to his sister or, if she's not around, his own stomach. (It's both adorable and disturbing, and yes, it's his nipples he's sucking on. I've actually pulled his face up and *checked*.) Callie has started to cut him off as well. She should've started earlier. Now that he's twice her size, it's not working as well.

I ought to keep a real log, so if I ever get MORE cats (not likely, this set was a total fluke) I'll have more than hazy recollection to go on, but now I'm thinking about this. I know that larger cats take more time to finish growing (thus giving them even more time to get big). But do they also take more time to emotionally and intellectually mature? Is he mentally younger than his sister is?
