We also went to Coney Island today.

Anybody care to guess what I brought home? Betcha you can! (No, really, in real-life trials 2/3 of the people I asked guessed on the very first try. Try it! Answer in the next post.)
The girls had never been before, and the very first thing we did was go on the rides. Hoo-boy, they ask extravagant prices for those things! I knew they did, but $25 for 10? And even though the Ferris Wheel is ostensibly in the same park, that's a different price altogether (another $18 for the three of us, and had I realized that in advance I would not have taken the kids down there in the first place). There's my money for the month.
But it was worth it. The girls had a lot of fun. They were very excited about going on the Tilt-a-Whirl (Ana went twice! Evangeline, thankfully, went once - under six has to ride with a grown-up, and I'm never doing that again. Next year she'll do it alone), and the little-kid roller coaster (which was very hilly for a kiddy ride), but do you know, Evangeline was scared of the Ferris wheel? Much to Ana's disappointment, we couldn't get one of the seats that swing because Evangeline flat-out refused, and Ana doesn't look old enough to go by herself (and Evangeline really *isn't* old enough to wait on the side by herself!) so we all had to go together.
