After school, Ana likes to hang out at the dinky little playground with her friends

There's Megan, and Christian and Kira (the twins - Christian is in her class) with their little brother Aidan, and Jessica (in her class) and a clump of pre-k kids. And her sister, of course.

And normally, Megan (Ana's bestest friend EVAH, since forever) plays with another kid, and Ana comes and sulks to me that Megan isn't being NICE to her, and I point out that I refuse to tell Megan to play with her instead of somebody else, sorry.

So I was a little amused when Ana glommed onto Aidan (a little younger than Evangeline) yesterday and spent the whole time "teaching him" something and running around - slowly, she explained to me later, so he wouldn't get discouraged and he could keep up! - and chasing him. Aidan didn't want to leave her to go home!

And Megan - well, she thought Ana was mad at her because instead of trying to get Megan to play with her, she was doing her own thing.

Not that I think Megan shouldn't play with other friends, or that Ana should punish her friend for not playing with her (not what she was doing anyway), but it's a good lesson for both of them, in the long run, to have these roles reversed for a change.

*yawn*

Another boring day.

Woke up.

Told a friend to stop calling me last-minute for babysitting, I can't watch her kids today. (Actually, I could, but she has *got* to stop calling me last minute, I don't like that. New rule: If I don't get advance warning, and you're not dying, it ain't happening)

Went out.

Stopped at the Farmer's Market, picked up some chard, and directed some the zombies pouring out of the train station towards the organic brains.

Went to the whole foods and spent some $17 on goat butter, vegan margarine, sheep yogurt, and fake cream cheese - Evangeline wants carrot cake for her birthday proper.

Saw a woman carrying a skeleton piggyback and debated the merits of instructing her in proper sling options. A wrap would have served her well.

Came home.

So, yeah, nothing interesting. Just a typical weekend.
