It's not even really Monday yet, but I can just tell it's going to be a miserable week.

I'd like to extend apologies in advance, because I strongly suspect severe bitchiness is about to ensue. Much of it is likely to be deserved, but innocents may be caught in the crossfire of me and, uh, me.

I think I'm going to go to bed now.

When I wake up, and it's Monday, and it is MLK day, maybe, in honor of the occasion, there'll be world peace and birds singing and little kittens on my lap, and everybody will sing in harmony.

More likely, it'll just be cold.

We'll see.

So let's say this again.

There is no appropriate context for saying, in front of your child, that you've thought of killing her.

This is not up for debate.

There is no appropriate context for saying, in front of your child, that you've thought of killing her.

No, not even if it was to be a murder-suicide instead of a straight murder.

There is no appropriate context for saying, in front of your child, that you've thought of killing her.

No, not even if it was "really scary" to you.

It's just wrong.

There is no context that makes this okay. And I'm not about to discuss that point as though there is such a context.

Because there isn't.

Now, you want to argue if it's ever all right to say "I'm so overwhelmed, life would be easier if..." or "Man, my kid is being such a brat, I can't take it!" - do that with each other.

But I am dead serious here. If I thought anybody I knew would ever say such disgusting things in front of their children - I would have to stop talking to them. Now. Because there is absolutely no context that makes that right.

Talking to people, I've conflated the scenes in That Video where Ms. Singer talks about her disturbing thoughts and the one where her daughter hugs her and asks what's wrong.

I'm not about to watch that video again - the kids might wake up at any minute, and I only have so much free time! - but I did check my recap of the whole thing.

Whoops. Sorry about that.

Incidentally, new rule. Anybody who wants to claim to know what other people understand (or don't understand), particularly when they don't know the person in question, needs to go and either educate or fuck themselves. Now.

When I put Evangeline to nap, as I was leaving to deal with Angelique's nap (seriously, I'm surprised she napped at all, I figured she'd end up with quiet time), I got a good look out the window.

It's been a year or more since we got that window, and I'm still surprised, looking out, how close we are to the water!

I always kinda knew - we are on an island, after all - but I didn't really understand it until I could see it.

But we've got a wonderful view of the bridge from the third floor, and we can even see a bit of the water and some ships before the leaves grow in on the trees. Our house is up on a hill a bit, that's why we can see more than just the house opposite.

Every time I see that view, I smile. It's just so... so... close! And I never knew, either.

Carefully made note of all the defunct ones and commented on it.

Clearly, most of those sellers buy their fabric from the same websites at the same time, meaning that they use the same fabric patterns.

This can get tedious, as you go "Again! I still do not want this pattern on my crotch! No!", or it can get wonderful as you realize that just because your favorite seller has sold out of pads in that fabric, you may still get the one you want elsewhere.

I was not intending to purchase anything, so I just found it amusing.

Ye gods.

I'd have a little more sympathy for them if their claims of damages weren't so absurd. A million dollars? Riiiiight. The kid claims he's only getting about one hit a day, and really... I don't know about you, but when I find a site I like, I visit it more than once, even when I know the content isn't changing. So how many unique hits is that?

Taken from [livejournal.com profile] asperger.

Edit: And it's already been dropped. That was fast.

Commentary from ABFH, notable because even her resident troll agrees with her, which must be a sign of the apocalypse, along with hell freezing over and pigs flying, both of which seemed a lot more likely.
