Of course, they neglect to mention that one reason for the decline of hot dog stands is that the other food is simply better made. I know of one stand, by Jenn's job, that does very well-made hot dogs, along with very well-made gyros. But most of them... don't. I don't want a flavorless hot dog on a cold bun with watery ketchup. I just don't. And at $3 a hot dog, I'd much rather to get a falafel instead, with some fried pita and all.
