On the rain and the flooding...
Oct. 12th, 2005 02:39 pmThis, too, is normal. Or, not normal, just not abnormal.
See, in the northeast, we typically get a lot of rain in October. We're flooding now because... well, I don't know about New England, but I suspect that it, like New York, didn't really get any rain this summer. And that's normal too. I can't remember the last year we went through a summer without a drought watch on.
Yes, we got a bit less water this summer than usual, but, c'mon. Some summers have to be "very dry", or else what's a heaven for?

Y'know what? I love Ana.
Oct. 12th, 2005 05:41 pmShe's useful. Not just in the general sense that she can sweep and help wash dishes and all, but in that, by being so wonderful, I can more effectively roll my eyes at other people's bad behaviour. Not other children, that's not fair, I know children develop at different rates, but otherwise competent adults.
Example: Why is that person whining to get what she wants? Geez, even my two-year-old niece knows the best way to get something is to be nice and friendly!
I can do that for things ranging from the really annoying (the whining) to the completely stupid and judgmental (omg, you don't know the capital of Canada?).
I don't do it aloud. That also would be wrong, since it's rude to tell people they're rude. But I can do it in my head and get a wonderful feeling of self-rightousness.
God I'm a jerk sometimes.
