It's like their gay marriage poll of yore, but this time tackling ID.

I love how just teaching evolution is "shielding them" from ID. Talk about your biased language here....

Here's my day so far:

1. Woke up, planned devilish trick on 'dul - the classic "cup of water over the door" trick. *giggles maniacally* Oh, he was so caught, and he couldn't get me back, because I was taking the kid. So I got him again later. And as he's going "laugh it up now", all I could say is that this was exactly what I was doing, laughing it up.

2. Took kid to the children's program at the museum. Friday is "Music and Make-believe". Not only was she the only kid there for about 45 minutes (of a full hour), but the person running the program had three preteen helpers - 11, 12, maybe 13 years old. My mom is right, nobody is better for distracting a toddler than a kid that age, because they don't realize that this is *work*. Ana was in heaven, the center of attention.

Until the two babies came, and the three older kids took a short break to coo over one of the babies. When Ana realized they weren't chasing after her, she threw a temper tantrum. Well, that got their attention, and they asked "what's wrong?"

So, I told them the truth, thinking the subliminal meaning would be obvious: "She's jealous of the baby" (and you should let her cry it out a bit, because she'll get over it real fast when she realizes that there's toys to play with). But no, their solution was to go "AWWWW!" and try to make her the center of attention again, which made her cry more, until I finally said "Look, leave her alone, she'll get over it. Not a minute after they took my advice, she was fine.

The last thing we need is for Ana to think that she gets what she wants (in this case, a lot of attention) by crying adorably.

3. And then it was over, and we wandered around the museum a bit, then left early. Just in time for Ana to fall asleep, a good hour and a half before her usual nap time. That might help to explain why she got so very jealous over these babies....

4. So I come home, tuck her in bed, and soak my head with water. This threw off Abdul's stride a bit, but he decided to toss water on me anyway. Naturally, I go "Gee, thanks!". This really irked him, so he tried it again. "OOOOOH, thankies! Thankies!" *giggles* So, really, I got him twice today - once this morning, by soaking him, then this afternoon by not getting upset.

And now he's steadfastly squirting me with a water gun. And trying to upset me by sticking ice down my pants. Apparently, he hasn't seen how fucking hot it is out, because I'm going "Oooh, do you have some more ice? Please?"

*giggles*

I love messing with his little mind.

Hm.

I have to get me some more ice. Scuzeme....

So, after I left suddenly, Abdul decided to make me crack.

Unfortunately for him, it's 95 degrees out, and I wasn't about to miss this chance to 1. cool off and 2. irritate him. So as he kept coming up with ice, chilled water, and whatnot, I kept thanking him. Or promising to "act mad" and then doing a really bad job of it. Or checking the television to see how hot it was.

When he got the idea to try warm water, I said that was good, as cold water forces your body to heat itself up (which it does), and that I was going to take a lukewarm shower. Which I did. And then he tried tossing warm water in as I showered - "OOH! Thanks! Now my feet are toasty! You're so sweet! Thankies!"

Finally, he gave up, and tossed his very coldest water on himself, after I went "ooh, thanks!" over it. And screamed "HOW CAN YOU STAND IT???" Well, 'dul, I can stand it because I've been acclimating, remember? And now, if it's all the same to you, I'm going to sit in front of my fans.

He's calling me evil now. Hee. I should've thought of this earlier.
