If I can't take over the world, I want to start a cult. It's as good as taking over the world, almost, and I could do the whole "living as I want" thing anyway, tax-free. And I could combine my religious/spiritual sentiments while telling them to others.

So now I want to know. If I formed a cult and/or legitimate religious group, would you be interested in joining and/or selling your soul?

And how does one go about forming a cult anyway? I mean, sure, any hack can make a religion, but how do you get people to join? Not when you're established, that's easy, send them door to door, but in the beginning, how does that work?

Finally: It's snowing. Yay.

The old man is glowing! He went to bed and bumped his head and was radioactively growing!

*laughs* The snow is deeper than Ana and Seth are tall! And they're each over two feet. It's the first snow of this winter... well, the first real snow, it snowed earlier this week but it all melted by the time I went out to see I, Claudius. Which, remind me, I have to ask Michael if I can borrow over the break. Some people don't believe Patrick Stewart ever had hair....

I'm here babysitting Ana the Catgirl. She's such a cutie, but today just isn't her day. She's all stuffed up and phlegmy, poor baby. So of course she's been crying much of the time. Not all of it, though. Right now she's asleep in her swing. I'm gonna stay over, so nobody be surprised if I don't post much in NC until Sunday. No way am I trying to walk home in this snow, especially at night. Well. It's probably safer in the snow than in the nonsnow, I'd be the only one crazy enough to be out there.

And did I mention? It's snowing!!!

Snow! Snow! Beautiful snow! The more it blows, the higher it grows! It's snow! *dances giddily*

Among the changes slated for the last stop on the No. 1 and 9 lines is a platform extension to accommodate all ten cars of a train. Currently, riders must be in the first five cars to get out at the station, which connects to the Manhattan terminal of the Staten Island Ferry.

1. It's friggin' annoying.
2. That's not the worst of it, when they first built the station, they built the ceiling too low, the trains couldn't get into the station at all.

“It’s a safety hazard. It’s a real bad station,” Jane Vredenburgh, a member of Staten Island Community Board 1, said of the current station.

Tell me about it. There's nowhere near enough exits, even in the new "temporary" station they opened after 9/11. And currently there's only one staircase... can you imagine the crowding there during rush hour? When I was at Stuy, I actually gave up riding the train when going to school, I'd walk instead because the people getting off the train wouldn't use the turnstiles set aside for leaving the station through, they'd use the ones people were trying to get into through. And as soon as the people stopped leaving from one train, the next one would pull in. It was impossible to get into the station!

Manhattan's Community Board 1 has come out against the plan. District Manager Paul Goldstein released a statement saying: “This project has merit, but it should not be paid for out of the funds slated for rebuilding Lower Manhattan. This is not a priority transportation improvement based on feedback from residents and workers Downtown.”

True enough, I suppose, but I don't give a. This should have been done YEARS ago. Who cares where they get the money, the station is a FIRETRAP.
