People on Amazon! STOP comparing EVERYTHING to Harry Potter!

Great literature, and even just decent literature, existed before HP and will continue to exist afterwards. Harry Potter, while certainly fun, is NOT great literature. When insulting a book, do not say that "you should just read harry potter again". When complimenting a book, do not say "if you like harry potter..." unless the book in question is the second, third, fourth, or fifth of that series. Actually, there were quite a few, and well written complaints too! My faith in humanity is restored. I'll save my actual harry potter (not harry hype) rant for another day.

Okay, I'm about to be a bit of a snot...

But people? If you're posting a lot of quizzes, or long surveys, or even just really long posts (raises her own hand guiltily)... use an LJ-Cut, okay? It's a bit annoying to have to scroll down lots of quizzes or surveys several times a day (that's how often I check my friends page, poor pathetic person that I am). If you're not sure how long a post is, add yourself to your friends list and check your page for yourself.

This is not directed at anyone in particular, I just know I have a lot of friends who just joined livejournal and probably don't know about lj cuts yet.

Hm. Among the other things you probably don't know about yet are syndicated sites. You can get comics like sinfest and calvin and hobbes on your friends page every day! You can also get the news and sam's blog, if you want. Worth looking into.

And there's also, of course, all the nice customizations... you can change the layout of your journal, and the color. And all that. But yeah. Syndication and lj-cuts. Learn those, and we'll both be happy. *huggles all her friends*
