I almost wish I could keep him. Now that he's been with me a while, he sits and purrs on my lap, and he's got a bad case of the nuzzles. And he follows me around, and he's starting to understand when I'm calling him. And I just have a soft spot for black cats.

So what are you going to do with him? I vote keep, but that may be because I want a kitten so very badly, and can't have one, so I have to live vicariously through others. ;)

Well, you're free to live vicariously through my clowder... I tame, spay/neuter, and give a forever-home to abused/unwanted/feral cats, so my home has quite a few -- I just posted a bunch of older pics this evening, in fact. :-)

Ah, see, I use shortcuts galore...

Oh, lord, if I had to do that I wouldn't have cats either! *snicker*

My cats are all-indoors, so we avoid shots entirely. I've studied vet medicine enough to recognize any warning signs, so *if* something happens, we go to the vet, otherwise I've found I can handle most issues.

I would never manage to feed 21 cats every day on a schedule...that's just not going to happen. *snicker* I've always free-fed using a 20 gallon dispenser, and when using good enough quality food, that doesn't seem to pose a problem. I do the same with the water -- they just have a bunch of 5-gallon water dispensers, so all I have to do is stick one in the dishwasher whenever it's empty and refill once clean.

Litterboxes are my big problem. If I work at it, using my Clie handheld, I do manage to do them every day (right now, twice each day) but I admit I can fall behind easily. Still, I get around that the same way I do food/water issues: I leave out multiple litterboxes with wheat-based or corn-based clumping litter that doesn't smell nasty when used.

Believe me -- with chronic illnesses, asthma, random incontinence, weird neuromuscular diseases and classic autism, I know every trick in the book for making their care as easy as possible! (Especially back when I was also going to university and had no brain cells available outside of lecture.) *grin*
