A 19 year prison sentence concentrates the mind wonderfully

This guy has spent the past decade and a half in prison learning all about hieroglyphics. I hope he can stay out of prison when he gets out, because it seems like an awful waste of a good mind if he can't.

If you're not familiar with the Horrible Histories television series, then you really, really need to become so. It's sublime. Started as a children's series, but the last two years it's actually won Best Sketch Show at the British Comedy Awards - up against adult programmes. (Never been done before.)

Later they recut the best sketches into an adult version, but I'm not sure there's much new content - I think just the Stephen Fry bits connecting the sketches.

I know they do, and the books are wonderful. I read them from when they were first released and eagerly bought each new one, as well as reading Horrible Science and The Knowledge from their inceptions too. I still occasionally pick one up for reading material when I'm back at my parents'.

Doesn't stop the fact that the programme is sheer genius. Neither product cancels out the other, they're enjoyable in their own ways.
