I'd call this unbelievable, except that it's not. And although people are talking about it, it's not being spread around outside of the ones who, y'know, already know about it.
All I can say is I hope the city gets their ass handed to them on this one. I don't think that everybody should've been pre-emptively evacuated, but there needs to be a plan in place just in case things go wrong. Isn't it obvious?

Date: 2011-08-28 03:37 am (UTC)Just like money poured in after the Haiti earthquake and everyone felt horrible. But it's not like Haiti didn't desperately need the help before the earthquake. And if people had given help in advance, then they could have invested in infrastructure that would have better protected them during an earthquake. But very few organizations or people ever want to do things like that.
