I can't help but think the author of the third piece could've spent a good bit more time establishing that the objection lay in the fact that she was prosecuted subject to the prosecuting lawyer's discretion and we have no real reason not to assume that such discretion was being abused. The way it was written, even when I could've been sympathetic to begin with it very nearly dissuaded me from seeing the racist context.
