And I thought this would be a good place to compliment all those teachers I loved and admired for being really good at what they do/did. This list only goes through high school, I'll set up something different for College once I graduate.
Mrs. Sargente. First grade. Actually, I hated the woman. But she was a good teacher, and I still use many of the tricks she taught me, especially when it comes to reducing fractions.
*skips several years*
Ms. Hall. Music history. Completely and totally insane. Very loud. Managed to teach the subject through sheer fear.
Ms. Olivi. History. Brilliant. Passed me even though I missed the final and all my homeworks. However, I got good grades on every test I *did* take, so.... Good sense of humor. Dealt with several people who worked hard at driving people crazy.
Mr. Berkowitz. American history. Also brilliant. Thought my essays were too long, but made sure nobody did less than an 80 on the Regents, which wasn't too shabby.
Mr. Olsen. Physics. Used to teach tennis. Crazy AND brilliant AND funny. Creator of "electric field guy". Didn't mind me not standing for the pledge. Nobody ever, as far as I knew, even pretended to act up in class, but not because he intimidated us all into perfect behaviour. I don't think it ever occured to anybody.
Ms... well, I can't remember her name. Sorry. Chem. Okay, not quite brilliant, but a good teacher nonetheless, and she managed to get even people who had been failing to a passing grade. Well, some of them.
There's no doubt more, but I shall have to list them later.
