So, because I'm dying of boredom here... Does anybody have any causes they wanna pimp out to me? I know I've posted enough lately that it shouldn't slip by youse guys that *I* have a cause (not yet a Cause, thank the appropriate deity or lack thereof) and in the interest of fairness and education, I'd like to read what other people get upset about. Yeah. Something like that. Did I mention I'm bored?

I've got a few major peeves with society.

Animal abuse (including recently my disgust with puppy mills)
People who don't raise their children to be well-mannered
People who expect others to have kids and will call them ugly names if they decide not to
People shoving personal beliefs (unrelated to general civility) down others' throats
Scam artists of many forms nd malicious greed in general

How about the thriving US prison industry that now incarcerates over two million people - a larger percentage of the population than any other nation on Earth? It's been awhile, but I seem to recall a big section on this over at Alternet (.org) under the heading of "Debt to Society."

As for me, I'm nursing a whopping case of cause-fatigue (but not "Compassion Fatigue"!).

How "industry" works (and suceeds) to get people to buy "stuff" they REALLY don't need - especially where it is actually HARMFUL. More specifically, in the formula industry's push to convince mothers that breastfeeding is difficult, or worse yet inadequete. What's worse is how many people buy into the bullshit. AND how the US government SUPPORTS this. This also plays into the ready-to-eat-foods industry (didn't you know, cooking is *hard*??? ), and I'm sure lots of others as well.
