Evangeline: You have an ORANGE bathing suit?
Me: Yeah, I couldn't find the red one.
Evangeline: But orange? I didn't know you had an orange one!
Me: Yup. I do.
Evangeline: That's good, because you wouldn't want to go to the pool and take off your clothes and be NAKED. That'd be disgusting. Nobody wants to see your naked butt.
Me: ??? There's nothing disgusting about being naked.
Evangeline: But they're private parts!
Me: I know. But that doesn't make them gross, it just makes them private. And you know, people DO swim naked sometimes.
Evangeline: THEY DO???
Me: Sure, why not? You take baths naked, right?
Evangeline: That's different.
Me: How so? You even take baths with your SISTER.
Evangeline: She doesn't care! That's not swimming! You can't go in public without clothes!
Me: Well, no, that's a bad idea, but not because it's disgusting, it's just impolite. But you can be in your own house naked or your own pool.
Evangeline: Your own - CONNIE! NOBODY has their own POOL!
Me: *laughs* Yes they do! Lots of people do! They just have more money than we do.
Evangeline: Ohhhhhh.

Then later, after swimming (which was cut short because some kid threw up in the pool, ew):

Me: Did you have fun at swimming today?
Evangeline: NO! *grumpy look*
Me: No? I thought you did! Why not?
Evangeline: *flips backwards and grins*
Me: Wait - are you lying to me?
Evangeline: *giggle*
Me: You are! You're lying to me!
Evangeline: *giggle*
Me: I cannot believe this! You're lying to your own aunt! Right to my face!
Evangeline: By the way - I was just pretending. I liked swimming.
