Well, after careful thought, I've decided I'll probably get a "something to chew on" for being in public, and I might get a baby teether for at night, since I really do wake up with chewed up cheeks and Figgy's story scared me. *shudders*

Sorry for the scare! But it is a danger, especially if you tend to forget what you're doing and aren't very sensitive to pain like I am. It's really unpleasant to hurt yourself like that. So chewy things should be good.
