Wow...

Just wow. People don't have a clue do they?
I swear, if so-called Christians actually followed (or at least sought to follow) the teachings of Jesus, I'd be all over it.

Wherein I digress...

Agreed. My husband is a Christian, and easily the most moral person I've ever met. My MIL though, walked out of my wedding ceremony because we combined Christian and pagan mythos. In fact, when she was conflicted, she called her pastor and her pastor told her to leave at once. Right. Because Jesus wants parents to walk out on their son's wedding day. *sigh*

And that's really my beef with that particular faith. People use it to justify everything from simple bigotry to outright genocide. My response to every person who makes statements about right and wrong based on the bible is:

"Oh really? Where did Jesus say that?" Not that I necessarily believe that the Bible is divinely inspired, but what they do isn't even in keeping with their own book. Leviticus alone is enough to infuriate me. Yes, it does say homosexuality is bad. Equally bad is working on Sunday, eating shellfish, or cutting your hair at the temple. So people who do ANY of these things deserve the same ire, according to the bible. Hear that, Maine? No lobsters for you--as decreed by the word of almighty god, right? RIGHT?!?

Working on Sunday, not Saturday. Saturday was absolutely the Sabbath of Leviticus. And even in Christianity Saturday is the Sabbath and Sunday is the Lord's Day. Christians just don't tend to celebrate the Sabbath.

And don't forget cotton-poly blends. They are ~very~ bad.

But on the upside, as long as you are not the high priest, Leviticus says you are allowed to sell your daughter into prostitution.

And I think I got my own first sentence backward. Clearly that means I need more tea. When I made my own religion, I should have had it involve more tea.
