Ana's sick.

I had stayed up late to get the Advent Calendar on Neopets. Good thing, too, because just as I'm shutting down everything, Ana came to my door and said she couldn't sleep.

We'd already known she was coming down with something, she was tired all day and had wanted some ginger tea, so I brought her upstairs, took her to the bathroom (so long as she's up she might as well pee), and heated up her tea for her to drink. She took very very small sips... apparently, it hurt her throat. So did water :(

And then I lay her down in her hammock and spent the next two and a half hours listening to her wheeze and try to sleep. Two and a half hours. I tried *everything*. I called her parents. I sang to her. I swung her hammock. I went downstairs and tried to see if her parents were home yet. I got her more ginger tea. I readjusted her so she was more upright, with a pillow under her head. Eventually, I climbed in with her, and that worked - it only took her, at that point, another 45 minutes or so to conk out. She woke a little when I crawled out, but swinging her hammock put her back to sleep again.

At this point, I was too tired to make it to my own bed, but I had to. If I'd gone to Jenn's bed and Ana woke up again, she'd be confused and upset when she went to my room and I wasn't there. So I trudged downstairs, and then *I* couldn't sleep. I spent a while stimming before I could settle myself down and fall asleep.

Jenn started sending emissaries to me at, like, 9 in the morning. Some ungodly hour made worse by the fact that I didn't get to sleep until past 6. Jenn got less sleep than I did, but she had more fun doing it.

So now I'm totally cheating and letting Evangeline watch TV while I try to restart my brain. We're bound to regret it when she gets hyper and bouncy from it, but I am still not really awake.
