I swear, Evangeline grew over the past week. I'll measure them Monday to confirm this!
Tomorrow, this is my plan. Doesn't it sound awesome??? Of course, now that I'm at the website I'm browsing through their camps and cursing the fact that I have no cash. I'm sure Ana would like this one, and nothing could be cuter than seeing Evangeline on ice.
This fall, I'm getting a real job. I don't care what sort of job it is (except that it has to be legal and safe), but I'm getting a real job.
I'm also going to see if I can get Ana or Evangeline any sort of scholarships to classes. Just one each for the year would be good, but... Ana especially is so gifted physically, she can't challenge herself much longer. And Evangeline can hold a tune really well, I can teach her the basics of piano but... *shrug*
Maybe some sort of work exchange thing. I don't know. How does one go about this sort of thing anyway?

Date: 2009-07-10 11:53 pm (UTC)I hope that this current economy will give rise to more work-exchanges. I'm doing a work-exchange of musical storytimes in exchange for my daughter attending French camp, but that came about after my daughter had already spent one summer there. Also, the head of the French camp goes to my church. My as-yet unreleased storytelling video is also a result of a work trade. Here's the challenge though: even if it's an equal value exchange, there is a tendency for paid work to receive priority over unpaid work. If someone is amenible to a work exchange, it's a good idea to get expectations, parameters, etc. down in writing.

Technically speaking, the empress of the universe thing is an old, old in-joke - so old that come to think of it, I don't think most people reading this are actually in on anymore! It certainly predates this LJ by a couple of years. (And now, all of a sudden, I do feel old.)

I try now to pretend I'm more grown-up than that. But anyway, yes, once people are in the middle of a good flame they'll take jokes like the Empress thing and act like they think you mean them seriously.
