Today, as I got Evangeline dressed, I noticed she'd thinned out a little, so I measured them both.
Yeah... they've both grown about a half an inch. No wonder they've been so annoying! Now they're screaming. I have to run us to the store to get groceries to make P I Z Z A (with buffalo mozzarella, a real treat), so gotta go.

Date: 2009-06-05 05:09 pm (UTC)Buffalo mozzarella is just about right, though I prefer their yogurt. Thick, heavy (like a very soft cheese - it holds its shape when you take a spoonful!), and full of fat, too, which is good for their little brains. Oh, and it's yummy.

Date: 2009-06-06 11:14 am (UTC)Goat milk whey protein (http://shopping.msn.com/specs/oryx-goat-whey-protein/itemid1054800627/?itemtext=itemname:oryx-goat-whey-protein&%3Bfulldesc=1&fulldesc=1) is available, and it looks great, if pricey, but I haven't tried it myself. I've grown leery of soy proteins, because it seems quite a few people have problems with soy (http://www.electroherbalism.com/Naturopathy/Therapies/Diet/Soy/index.htm). Rice milk has no protein, so I don't count it as 'dairy' - it's a grain product, all carbs, just disguised as dairy.
The government puts all kinds of barriers in the way of people buying and selling fresh, raw, unpasteurized milk (cow, goat, whatever), to the point where it's probably either impossible to obtain or insanely expensive in the cities. It's pretty expensive even here where we've got fields of fat organic cows all over the valley. But there's nothing the government can do if people raise their own goats, and if they give the surplius milk to their friends, who give them presents in return.
