I'm typing this up only so that the noise of the keyboard can distract me. As it is I can't sleep, can't think, oh GOD make it STOP. Is this because of the aspirin? Wikipedia says aspirin can cause tinnitus as a side effect. I'll never take two aspirin before bed again if it just will STOP NOW. GOD.

you know i never thought i'd say this, but i'd rather have the migraine-induced insomnia. at least pain is a bit more tangible than the awful claustrophobic hum of ringing ears that won't stop.

i'm sorry. try alcohol? :P

Tinnitus is sometimes a side effect of anti-inflammatories. I took two ibuprofen before bed last night and got ringing ears because of it. Fortunately a melatonin pill made me able to sleep, otherwise I'd have probably been awake for hours because of it. Do you have anything that you can take to make you go to sleep?

Oh, that's a terrible feeling, I know. For future reference, this site (http://www.simplynoise.com/) (or white/brown noise in general) has often helped me.

Eep - sorry about that! I find the brown noise blocks it out for me.

I've had unstopping tinnitus in my left ear for several months now.

The doctors agree: idiopathic nerve damage. It may go away tomorrow or never stop, they don't know, there's nothing to be done.

I'm still not quite used to it :(
