See, recently the nice people who run the SI Ferry totally redid the two terminals. I posted about it then - they don't have nearly enough seats (too much empty space), and the fishtanks on the SI side need massive cleaning already. (Well, I could've predicted that. If they'd kept the fishtanks out to begin with nobody would have minded.)
But there's one thing I didn't notice until very recently.
Both new terminals are light and airy, with skylights and all. Plenty of sunshine, very nice. On the Manhattan side, it's light and airy all through the night. On the OTHER side, I guess they figured that nobody goes from Staten Island in the evening, because they seem to have decided to let the skylights light the entire building. It's very dim and dreary as soon as the sun sets.
Can barely see your hand in front of your face.
Well, it's free. I'd say I can't complain, but clearly I am complaining, so I guess I simply can't complain too loudly.
