When I saw part 1, I asked myself semi-jokingly "OK, who's he going to kill off this time?"

He even has a term for him up on TVTropes.

Well, with only three main characters and two of them nemeses, the answer to that should have been obvious.

Well, yeah, but he always kills the people I don't expect. Which creates a bit of a feedback loop, because I end up not expecting the obvious when he does it. Especially since he does it in interesting ways.

I was actually half-expecting Horrible to succeed in killing Hammer, at the cost of Penny and potentially also injuring himself.

He did better than kill Hammer. He humiliated him. At the cost of Penny.

My mistake was wanting him to be happy. Why, why, WHY do I keep falling for that?
