We're leaving today.

I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Don't tell Jenn but when she asked if I'd packed and I said "Yeah, I'm ready to go!", I actually hadn't even begun to think about packing yet. And I didn't get to bed until past three this morning, either.

_{I hate flying}

I snapped at the poor nieces so many times today that Ana has taken to reminding me to breathe and asking me to say sorry for snapping at her - I have to explain that, properly speaking, it's not polite to remind other people to be polite. I guess this means it's time for the two of us to come up with a code so I can remind her discreetly instead of grabbing her and hissing "WHAT DO YOU SAY?????" every time it's even remotely relevant.

Kids didn't eat lunch. They prefered to wait for the treat - fresh mulberries! White ones and red ones! Mmmm. I love mulberries. Ana wiped her hand on her shirt. Ugh. I hate mulberry stains.

I want to go to the local children's museum in San Diego. If I can't get a ride from my uncle, and I don't know anybody with the spare gas money to drive, can I get there from Escondido on a bus?

Ditto for the Zoo. Oh, I know it's like the Bronx zoo, which is so big, but I still want to go.

And I want to make it to the beach, just because.

Erk. =/ For some reason, I had thought that was resolved. ^^;; Hopefully, it'll be a relative non-issue at the airport. ^_^ Good luck.

You can catch MTS Bus No 810 from Escondido Transit Center to downtown San Diego. It is a rush hour bus that takes aboutt 60 to 90 minutes, depending on traffic. You'll need to catch it before 7:25 a.m., and the last bus back in the afternoon leaves around 5:40-ish, depending on where you catch it in SD.

Alternately, you can catch bus No 20 at North County Mall in Escondido. It goes to downtown San Diego in about an hour and a half.

Once in downtown San Diego, the public transit is excellent. The Children's Museum is near the Trolley line, and Bus No 7 runs through Balboa Park every 12 minutes or so, with a transfer to the Trolley.

So the short answer is: yes, you can.

7 is 10 to our bodies, so if we make that trip Monday before anybody acclimates, that should rock.

How do I get to the North County Mall? Well, somebody can drive us a short way. THANK YOU.

Now - can I illicitly download firefox without being caught? Inquiring mind wants to know!
