There's also a related blog post here. In the comments, some people are complaining about long walks with lots of young kids - not enough space in the stroller, and so on.

Now, I don't know much about strollers, but I do know that I often see kids from daycares out for the day, and they're transported in these daycare strollers - four, six, or eight seats, often with the ability to swivel so the kids can be seated all looking at each other or all facing forwards. They're about as compact as you can expect from a stroller designed for a half-a-class-size, too.

Funny, we've been a one-car family since 1996. It's a hassle at times (like when I have to pick up Mike on his dinner break from work so he has a car to get back home at the end of a late shift) but it is definitely cheaper. Last year we moved to a subdivision without a lot of public transit amenities, though, so we're frustrated that we can no longer fall back on the bus the way we used to. Cities? Expand your bus routes!

As are we a no car family. But for those people who are used to having extra vehicles at their disposal, it's nice for them to have support.
