Date: 2008-05-05 06:06 am (UTC)Or, rather, I'm surprised that only 45% of the country is looking out for their short-term interests instead of their long-term ones - that's not exactly stupid, so I don't want to say that. It's just not as clever as it might be.
(But honestly, that tax is really low, isn't it? I didn't know, because I never am in a position to buy gas, but... only 37¢ per gallon, isn't it? Seriously? No matter how much you drive, how inefficient your vehicle is, I doubt that'll make or break your budget.)
