Another -cdote from Halloween

We were sitting in the kitchen, and I told Evangeline "Can you say trick-or-treat?" which prompted the following (much abbreviated) conversation:

Angelique: *pointing* Can you say table?
Evangeline: Tabo
Angelique: *pointing* Can you say chair?
Evangeline: Tair
Angelique: *pointing to sling* Can you say... uh...
Evangeline: Sing?
Angelique: Sling? Can you say sling?
Evangeline: Sing.
Me: *stifled giggling*

My younger daughter used to not be able to say "ch" at the ends of words; it came out "ts" instead. So:

"What's the name of Lilo's friend?"
"Stits."

I guess life's a bits sometimes.

Also, neither of them used to be able to say "th"; it was "fl." "Thumb" is still "flum" for Danny and me, even though they can say it correctly now.

I love kids and their creative pronunciations.

But what really made me laugh is that Evangeline supplied the word first, then her sister asked if she could say it.
