Also, I read that this is supposed to be the coldest winter here in the past 15 years. Given that we had a cold, wet spring, a cold wet summer (if you could even call it summer), and then a new summer right when fall was supposed to be starting... I can believe the cold winter hype. But I remember winter when I was 9, and that was damn cold.

Sounds like you're getting the opposite to us. We're in for a dry hot summer as opposed to last year where summer skipped us altogether (it snowed in the hills around Christmas Day and that's summer here!).
