Seems to me that now, I don't only have to think about "flooding" but also "massive drought".

So I need the second safest place to be in case of global warming. Not the safest, because everybody will be there, but the second safest. Gotta outthink them!

Alternatively, I need advice on living in a desert, or in a very flooded city. That might, in the long run, be the better plan - nobody will be clamoring for my little patch of land then.

Living in a desert isn't so hard; all you need is a stillsuit, and an airtight cave, and an underground reservoir.

Maybe learn to live on a boat? At least you don't accumulate a lot of stuff.

I agree. Great Lakes area. I don't think the lakes will rise like the oceans are, and so you won't be washed to sea. And with the water there won't be massive droughts. And GWB is almost out of office so hopefully no other prez will get the nifty idea of pumping all our water out west.

The Great Lakes are slowly draining and Michigan had a big drought this year. Don't get your hopes up.

Well hope is all we've got since the rest of the world will be desert or under the ocean. ;-)

Well it's better than living in a desert or worse, under the ocean. ;-)

Well I'm in Vermont, and it seems like a decent place to be. Maybe not the absolute best, but it has serious good points. (But if everyone moved here it'd be a real problem.)
