A word to the wise:

Never, ever, ever - even if accidentally - meet up in a group with some eight kids, most of whom are within 18 months of each other.

Especially not when some of them are recovering from or coming down with whatever is currently going around.

Just trust me on this one. I think we were all glad of the moral support, but the kids were... gah.

I got chicken pox because my mom and a bunch of other moms at the preschool intentionally infected us by letting us all play together in order to get it over with. Of course, they have vaccines for that now, don't they?

Yes, they do, though many people intentionally hold chicken pox parties, mostly, I think, because of fears of vaccines combined with the idea (possibly correct) that this sort of immunization doesn't last as long as the natural form.

But I just meant that the kids were cranky, not that anybody got sick.
