Just added you as a friend, as I've been meaning to for months...and I'm not on my period, though that's probably because I'm on the new "every four months or when I feel like it" plan for the pill. I can't wait until permission is given by the FDA to do "every year" or "every few years" or "never unless she wants kids"! :-)
I'd like to get one, but my GYN keeps refusing. I lost the ovaries long ago (good riddance) so having the period every so often is just an annoyance. :) I wouldn't be on the pill at all, except I need it for hormone replacement... Skipping the placebo is actually exactly how they're administering the longer-term doses.
I'm looking forward to getting your comments on my LJ (and/or my blog, which is often different)...
*grins* Good, because I was reading that before I got Livejournal (I'm a random linkhopper) but I didn't wanna seem too lurky. So of course, delurking wasn't an option.
I take Estelle minus the placebos for 3 or 4 strips depending on if I get premenstrual symptoms and then I have a week off and get my period. I'm thinking about extending it to 5 strips - as far as I know the only problem with that is the increased likelihood of breakthrough bleeding. It's not like the volume goes up and up and up the longer you delay your period, in fact my periods are lighter than they've ever been. I've been doing this for the last 18 years (apart from when I had my children who are now 4 and 2) and it didn't affect my fertility, my GP has no problem with it and thinks that more women should do this. FUCK periods. They're a nuisance and they cost money.
I'm not, but I'm weird like that. One time at church camp, I swear, EVERY GIRL in the cabin was on their period. Except, of course, me. The counselor had to have a chat with all the girls. I felt kind of bad...
Just got off mine. I was laughing about that this morning reading your first entry, you must be the alpha female. Of course it's one of 3 or 4 this year so I can't complain about much. I'm a big fan of birth control pills :)
I'm not but then again mine have been really irregular for the past 12 months. It's probably something to do with my renal failure and dialysis - apparantly it can affect the hormones. My last one was at Christmas - which happens every year. Even if I've only just finished one the week before, it makes a reappearance just for Christmas.
When I worked in an office, most of us seemed to synchronize our periods with each other. I felt really sorry for the 2 guys who worked with us 30 females suffering from varying degrees of PMT.
I'm on the pill, and I was supposed to get my period on Tuesday. For some reason, possibly the cycles of my workmates interfering, it didn't arrive when it was supposed to.

You can always just not take the placebo. And I'm glad you added me, I can stop sneaking to your site and notcommenting.
