We're actually having a session on that in one of my moderated groups for parents of autistic kids. Some of the parents have teen children and need to teach them how to set boundaries and be safe and all that. The parents who discussed this at the first meeting were not all OMG MY KIDS A SPED THEY CANT DO IT, but were discussing the special issues they face.

The best was a mom talking about how she had the issue with her kid, and was talking about how in their family they feel that you should wait until they are married and all that (they're Catholic), and the kid was fine with that, he isn't interested much yet, but then said, 'what if she wants to though' and mom explained more on how to say no and how to deal with pressure and all that in terms he understands (not that he's dumb but as in there are ways I have to speak to my kids that they get it) and then she said he sighed and said "what if she's really pretty with long brown hair in a ponytail?"

And that was probably the sweetest thing I heard that entire day. :D

I like not only that we are having this talk but that the suggestion was made by the parent and that one of the two moderator has teenaged autistic children. So she GETS it more, I think.
