And now they're calling it a "surprise" storm.

How much of a surprise could it have been? Tuesday at 4 I rushed Angelique past the playgrounds, telling her I was worried about rain. I mean, it was warm and muggy, it was overcast, and there was a constant wind! How much more of a sign do you need to know there's a storm coming?

Me thinks there's a difference between just a "storm" and "3 inches of rain and tornadoes"...

I thought it was only 1.5 inches and *one* tornado which travelled a lot...?

I didn't pay too close attention, but everything I noticed said 3". Which, for conditions surrounding a tornado, would not be unheard of.

I saw pictures of tracks under several feet of water!

But even in the middle of a drought, the tunnels have to constantly pump out water. There's supposed to be rivers there, it's just that the city grew up and got rid of the rivers, if that makes sense.
