I know this. My sister knows this. This is why I feel safe leaving my cell phone will all my other stuff in her house. Because NOBODY would be silly enough to leave a LOT OF WATER on the table, right?

*sighs*

Well, half of google tells me to stick my phone in the fridge, the other half suggests on top of some warm device, like my cable box. Either way, it takes three days. I'm going for the fridge right now because it's really humid out there.

Jenn? Don't call me. I'll call you. Maybe.

If you have a cell with a SIM card, you could pop it into a different phone if you know someone with a spare.

WHat I did before was a) dry it as thoroughly as possible on the surfaces (including removing the battery - I used a qtip for small spaces) and then b) used a blowdryer on it.

You can also exchange the water in the phone for alcohol (if you have access to fairly clean alcohol, denatured [with methanol] or ≈ 95% alcohol) and then evaporate that, because that evaporates more quickly than water.

Just make sure that if you use denaturated ethanol it's not denaturated with some chemical that melts plastic. Methanol is probably the safest (just don't drink it, might loose your eyesight and possibly die).

Gee, hairdryer on low heat took 20 minutes for my old phone.

Just NOT HIGH. No melting tiny components. :-p

OHHHH! And did you see? You have another Vowel-beginning niece on the way. :D
