I, for one, cannot imagine why they do that with teenagers. Seriously. In the 8th grade, we did Julius Caesar, which... well, maybe that wasn't a better choice, but nobody felt weird about it, anyway.
The teacher is apparently taking this opportunity to spend the very first week of class, first time with these students, watching the movie. I can see that. But it makes conversation here a bit difficult. Apparently, Leonardo DiCaprio is "cute".
Well, I can see that too. That's exactly what various classmates told *me* in the 9th grade. I now effectively feel old. I'm 24. That's far too young to feel old, no matter which scale you view things on.
It really weirds me out, anyway.
